Candidate for Moderator of the 2019 Presidential Election Debate, Ira Koesno Appears Again
Pos warta. Jakarta - The KPU has issued a candidate name option for the moderator of the 2019 Presidential Election debate. But the names proposed by the KPU have not yet been agreed upon by the two teams, both Jamsowi-Ma'ruf Amin and Prabowo Subianto-Sandiga Uno.
"Because there are many different proposals, the final moderator decision cannot be taken until the last meeting, then the second is the fifth debate issue," said KPU Chair Arief Budiman, at the KPU office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Wednesday ( 12/26/2018).
There are 6 figures proposed by the KPU as moderators of the election presidential and vice presidential debates. Among them were Najwa Shihab, Ira Koesno, Bayu Sutiyono, Tomi Cokro, Alfito Deannova, and Prabu Revolusi. But the names have not been agreed upon.
Deputy Chairperson of Jokowi-Maruf Amin TKN, Lukman Edy said the moderator in the presidential election debate must be neutral. The moderator's neutrality is considered important so as not to framing the news to the public.
"The KPU has chosen a moderator who is neutral and acceptable to all parties. In order for the candidate debate event in accordance with Law Number 7 of 2017 to be implemented properly, the provision states that the moderator must be chosen who does not favor one candidate pair," Lukman said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the National Prabowo-Sandiaga Uno Board, Priyo Budi Santoso said the names proposed could not be agreed upon because there was still debate over the number of moderators wanted by Jokowi-Ma'ruf. The BPN has also proposed moderator names to the KPU.
"We propose that the 1-5 debate will be led by 2 moderators. We will not say the name of course because the name we are proposing is a name that has a reputation, most of which are similar to those proposed by TV friends. But from friends next to those who initially agreed to two (moderators), but rather suggested only one moderator name. But hopefully in the next meeting which is planned on the 28th of Friday, hopefully the conquerors will begin to converge, "he explained.
